The reason why I chose this game is that it further solidifies the truth that the Phoenix Coyotes are not just the elite team of the Pearson Division, but of the MFHL in general (and no, I'm not smoking crack, but think what you will). -Douglas Kerr, Washington Capitals GM I give credit where it is due. Yes, Phoenix is 1st in their division, BUT they would only be 4th in the Smythe, 3rd in the Norris, 3rd in the Patrick, and 3rd in the Adams. Elite? No! Above average? Yes! Their goaltending is the difference by a far streatch. Most of the credit must be given to Steve Thomas. Stevie is producing at a good pace with crappy linemates. Roenick and Tkachuk are feeding off each other, so their numbers are reasonable. Stevie is doing it all alone on the 2nd line. This may sound crazy but if Thomas played with Roenick....look out! Steve Thomas is the reason why the Coyotes are playing as well as they are or the Coyotes would be battling the Stars for 1st in their division. I think the Coyotes are over-acheiving and will be BLOWN away when its time to face the winner of the Norris or the Colorado Avs in round 2. -Vinnie Cortello, Colorado Avalanche GM The Phoenix Organization wishes to thank Doug for his thoughts and comments on Coyotes. Thanks you once again Doug. And I hope some opinions are recieved on this, I'm curious to what is said. and I haven't even checked out the MFHL site yet =) -Jim LeBrasceur, Phoenix Coyotes GM I don't recall Vancouver being an ELITE team. Especially after trading Sakic/Rhodes/S.Stevens/K.Stevens/Kurri -Ryan Boehner, Philadelphia Flyers GM A solid win for Phoenix against a depleted Canucks team. Wregget is continuing to surprise, but against a younger and inexperienced team for the most part this time. Enough with this elite team stuff for now though, until we see them beat a few of the eight teams better than them in the MFHL standings convincingly, they're simply a "good" team. -Adam Sobkow, Los Angeles Kings Gm
